Given the high level of technology in Celtara it should not surprise anybody that drones play a vital role. Because AIs are restricted in use and also banned from using weapons all drones are semi-autonomous machines that always need an active human controller. They can perform complex maneuver but a human needs to give orders and ultimately “pull the trigger”. This is done either with conventional workstation or with the more modern Uplink (+Hive extension) implant.

Civilian drones range from simple surveyors to complex construction machines and unmanned helicopters. They can be found in most civilized areas but Thelasia uses them by far the most.

Then there are two types of drones used for conflict. Support and combat drones. Support drones mainly provide information with advanced sensors and mobility or stealth. Some can also support the user in other ways like the Mule which can carry all that loot you find in your adventures.

Combat drones are no toys. These specialized high tech weapons are designed and build to kill humans. Access and use of combat drones can increase the combat performance of a person many fold. Main constrain for combat drones is the high price and that an Uplink with a Hive extension is realistically mandatory.

Lastly it should be noted that ther are also the so called “Military Drones”. These drones are unmanned versions of attack helicopters, weapon platforms, suicide drones, tanks and so on.

All the juicy information about support and combat drones can be found in the Appendix.
