Working towards a better future.

As the worlds wealthiest and technologically most advanced nation Thelasia has been at the top for over a hundred years. All this is thanks to SAM, the most powerful AI in the world, who appeared shortly after the Sundering and became the founding stone on which Thelasia was rebuilt.

Thelasia is a democracy but also a surveillance state with stern laws, far reaching institutions and a bit of a “saviour complex”. Personal freedom is counterbalanced by national security and economic dominance. Citizens enjoy many advantages like free public transport and the best healthcare system in the world but the population of Thelasia is small compared to other nations and the massive size of the continent.

Most people live in a few urban areas and one third of them are not even full citizens but so called “Blues”, worker with a permit. Migration is heavily controlled and population growth has stagnated.

To protect all this Thelasia has the most advanced military in the world including the awesome Immortals. And SAM the machine mind that dwarfs any computer and AI in the world.

If you want to know more about Thelasia you can find it in the Lore Library.

If you are looking for a futuristic high tech setting you found it.

Thelasia is that one place everybody wants to live in. Until you realize that there is plenty of dirt underneath the sofa and a lot of skeletons in the basement. The people here mean well but there is a cost to keep a nation like this running. What ever else you might hear about Thelasia trust in this: Thelasia is built on power and not on good intentions.

If you want to be active in Thelasia you want to know your way around tech. Any score, any mission will most likely involve electronic security and computers in some fashion. A hacker will find a lot of work here, just stay the hell away from SAM.

Also, be smart. Thoughtless violence will get you into trouble fast. Even the big corps need to watch what they are doing and play it safe. The system is always watching and they do not shy away from big names. That means crime works differently here with more smiles and less shooting.
